How CPDFlow maps to the CIMA 6-step cycle

CIMA requires members to follow a 6-step CPD cycle at least once a year. CPDFlow structures your work around these same six steps:

CIMA StepWhat you doIn CPDFlow
1 — DefineEstablish your role context and development prioritiesCycle setup — role & responsibilities
2 — AssessSelf-assess against the CGMA Competency Framework; identify gapsCompetency Assessment
3 — DesignPlan development objectives to address those gapsObjectives
4 — ActUndertake learning activities; capture ad-hoc learningActivities + Inbox
5 — ReflectRecord what you learned from each activityReflective statements on Activities
6 — EvaluateReview the whole cycle; inform the next oneQuarterly Reviews + Cycle Close

Everything in the application exists to support one of these six steps. If you are ever unsure why a feature exists, this table is the answer.

A note on CIMA compliance

CIMA’s CPD requirements are three obligations:

  1. Keep learning throughout your career
  2. Follow the CPD cycle at least once a year
  3. Keep a record of your learning activities

CIMA randomly selects members for monitoring each year. If selected, you must submit your CPD record using CIMA’s Professional Development Record Form. Non-compliance carries financial penalties and can lead to disciplinary action under Regulation 18A.

CPDFlow keeps your record audit-ready at all times. The CIMA Declaration PDF (see Chapter 10) can be generated at any point — not just at year-end. You can also download a complete audit evidence bundle (see §10.6) containing your report PDF and all uploaded evidence files.
